We are delighted to host the video premiere of this gorgeous, stripped back version of one of the many highlights from Wolfgang Pérez’s ‘Só Ouço’ album which came out midway of 2025 (check out our 10/10 review HERE). In this new live session with the Rio de Janeiro drummer, composer and producer Pedro Fonte, the duo deliver a startlingly different version of ‘Tristeza’ from the album. While the original recording features an arrangement of 18 instruments, including an extensive brass and woodwind section, this intimate interpretation strips the song down to its essence. What remains is a fragile and expressive dialogue, carried by the deep (musical) connection between Pedro, Wolfgang, and their instruments.

Onstage the duo perform a repertoire that mixes Wolfgang’s and Pedro’s solo works plus some reinterpretations of Brazilian songs that they consider worth sharing. Thankfully for us, this is going to be an ongoing and long term project and they are planning to play a European tour this summer/autumn so keep your eyes open for dates!
