We’re delighted to host 'Floating Through Indigo', one of the first singles from 'Natural Environment', the forthcoming instrumental album from Roberto Di Gioia (Web Web) & Tim Lefebvre (David Bowie, Elvis Costello, Sting), issued on German label into trembling silence.
Spaced out jazz-funk that more than nods towards late ‘70s and early ‘80s soundtrack work, this particular track suggests Bob James composing for 1980s lost-in-space movie Saturn 3. All mood and groove with wavey Juno pads, warm Rhodes and Lebefvre’s elastic bass stringing the funk together, the piece is both stylistically recognisable and yet feels as fresh as a new day.

As busy musicians this was a rare occasion to create an album in the studio together based just on how they felt in the moment, their instincts and talents leading the way. The thirteen track album also features flute and alto contributions from Tony Lakatos, lending the record a floaty, hippie quality that soothes as well as grooves.
‘Floating Through Indigo’ is released on 30th Oct and the full album release of ‘Natural Environment’ will be on 27th November!
