A collaboration that was always destined and a party you simply cannot afford to miss, Sounddhism and Can't Stop Won't Stop join forces to bring you without doubt one of the biggest guests we've ever welcomed to Nottingham - whichever way you're measuring...

∷∷∷∷∷∷∷∷∷∷∷HOT 8 BRASS BAND

Seminal New Orleans marching band luminaries and Tru Thoughts family Hot 8 Brass Band will be bringing some unfathomably huge southern-fried hip-hop-infused marching band jazz to your doorstep on June 1st. It's going to be a hella brassed-up ruckus. They've been nominated for a grammy for Best Regional Roots Music Album for their 2012 album “The Life & Times Of…The Hot 8 Brass Band", recorded a Maida Vale Session for Gilles Peterson, performed on the Culture Show and laid down tracks with the massive Basement Jaxx to name a few achievements - good work for a band who set up in 1995 with the simple aspiration of playing their native deep south brass band sound professionally.

A wealth of top class originals and versions including notable ones such as "Sexual Healing", "Ghost Town" and "What's My Name", played with Hot 8's innate swamp city flavours, have captured the imagination of dancefloors fiend and festival heads across the globe. Representing the sounds of their troubled but musically and cultural crucial home city, they are a leading light in the resurgence of brass band music internationally and undoubtedly one of it's very most important purveyors. They deserve a huge warm welcome to Nottingham this June, let them teach you a lesson in how to party Mardi Gras style.

In support we bring you a band who could headline any venue, any size, any time if this were just a regular night - Sounddhism's most in demand band and pretty much our favourite music gang in the country... the inimitable soul/afrobeat/hip-hop/Brazilian fusion machine that goes by the name of Nubiyan Twist! Having delivered some of the most memorable shows in recent Nottingham history, this Leeds and London-hailing collective tear up a party like no other, bringing effortlessly on point musicianship and a perfect ear for a beat - usually via around 10 players. We're indescribably pleased to see them on this bill and have them back in front of one of their favourite crowds. Big up the Twist.
